Morphometric Analysis of Ischnura aurora (Brauer, 1865) in Two Lakes at Semeru Mountain East Java

Abstract

Lake Ranu Pani has been experiencing environmental damage due to human activities, while Lake Ranu Regulo is still in good condition. This difference in environmental conditions allows for differences in the genetic diversity of animals in the area. The aim of this research is to know the genetic diversity of Ischnura aurora needle dragonfly based on morphometric analysis in both locations. A total of 8 morphometric characters (in mm) were measured using a digital caliper. Data were analyzed using T test, biplot and cluster. T test results showed that male I. aurora in both sites was not significantly different, nor did females, but there were differences between male and female aurora at each location ie body color, wing span (WS) and length of hindwing (LH). Biplot analysis showed the uniformity of sample distribution for each character. The dendogram results described most of the samples were clustered into a single group. The result data showed that genetic diversity of I.aurora in Ranu Pani and Ranu Regulo lakes is still low.
